A Bondi Rescue lifeguard has shared a heartwarming video of his emotional reunion with a ‘clinically dead’ baby he resuscitated and brought back to life.

Anthony Carroll, aka Harries had just finished a busy 13-hour shift at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on New Year’s Day earlier this year and was heading home when he was approached by a distraught man alerting him to a ‘dead’ baby who had somehow fallen and hit his head on the road.

Despite being off-duty, Harries grabbed a defibrillator kit and raced to the promenade with several colleagues to help save eight-week-old Magnes, who had stopped breathing and was showing no signs of life.

Magnes’ distressed parents and large crowd of onlookers watched on as Harries desperately attempted CPR before placing a ventilation mask and bag over the baby’s face.

He’s eventually brought back to life and lets out a cry before paramedics take over and whisk the baby away in an ambulance.

Ten months on, Magnes has since miraculously made a full recovery and recently returned to Bondi Beach with his grateful parents for a special visit.

A delighted Harries shared a video of the heartwarming reunion.

‘This little man Magnes I resuscitated and pretty much brought him back to life,’ he begins.

‘This is pretty much the greatest day of my lifeguarding career to have this little boy in the tower with me.’

The camera then zooms in the boy’s parents.

‘This is my dream to do this for you guys, it’s the best thing I have ever done in my career,’ the lifeguard tells them.

Harries vowed to help Magnes’ parents who have been doing it tough financially.

‘I am so grateful and happy that I was in the right place at the right time,’ he captioned the video on Instagram.

‘The family and little Magnes need help as the cost of medical bills have been really hard on the family. I’ll do whatever it takes to help his family and this beautiful child.’

The incident was featured on the hit Channel 10 show Bondi Rescue earlier this year, where an emotional Harries choked back tears as he relived the harrowing ordeal.

‘If this is a baby, this is the most important thing ever,’ he explains in a piece-to-camera as his eyes well up.

‘Survival of life for a child surpasses anything I’ve done in my career.’

‘The father was literally on top of me and to be a father and look up at him and to see water coming out of his eyes.

‘You know, a dad to a dad, you just want to give it your all.’

Not long after Magnes was rushed to hospital, the lifeguards expressed relief after hearing word that the baby would likely pull through without any major complications.

‘So stoked, wow. Just amazing,’ Harries says in disbelief.

‘Getting those breaths in was everything.

‘Hopefully that little bub will come down and he’ll be a little boy and maybe he’ll even be a lifeguard one day and he’ll remember what we did for him.’

The show’s narrator, Channel 10 star Osher Günsberg was among the many viewers to comment on Harries’ heartwarming reunion.

‘Mate I needed this good vibe in my week like a beacon,’ he wrote.
